Rumors of Trinidad Carnival
Today I heard through the grapevine that the powers that be in the Trinidad carnival landscape are in consultation regarding some form of festival for the end of February 2022.
To be clear, from my understanding, a full, normal carnival parade is already off the table….so put that out of your mind for now, but a scaled down “parade” may still happen and fetes seem very likely happen. All under the safety blanket of all masqueraders being fully vaccinated (and hopefully, tested).
One confounding factor that comes to mind is, will there be a long quarantine period for persons coming in from other countries?
This, and many other questions, remain to be answered.
In any case, it’s encouraging to see the glimmers of light at the end of this long dark road called covid.
